FORBES Russia celebrate 10th anniversary – from a scratch to the market leader in business magazines

In April 2014 FORBES Russia is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Since the beginning in 2004 the business magazine had some significant achievements. FORBES has not only become the Russian market leader in business magazines, attracting an average readership of more than 1.3 million but also forged ahead the digitization with more than 3,2 million unique visitors on the website in 2013. With several successful line extensions and new distribution channels, including the launch of iKiosk and more than ten events per year, FORBES today is THE business media brand in Russia.

"The entire editorial team is working passionately in order to find the best stories and helping our readers to oversee the huge and vibrant business landscape in Russia. Thanks to everyone who contributes to the journalistic approach of FORBES", says Elmar Murtazaev, Editor-in-chief of FORBES Russia.

The annual FORBES “Golden Hundred” is the most quoted rating of the richest Russian businesspeople. Since 2011 the listing doubles its coverage, naming the 200 richest Russians. 307 of the richest Russians have appeared on the FORBES list. For 10 years, leading Russian politicians, economists, scientists and businesspeople have been participating as columnists for the magazine: Alisher Usmanov, Alexey Kudrin, Mikhail Khodorkovsky, Anatoly Chubais, Sergey Guriev, among others. Since the first issue in Russia four editors-in-chief were in charge of the magazine: Pavel "Paul" Khlebnikov (2004), Maxim Kashulinsky (2004-2011), Elizaveta Osetinskaya (2011-2013)  and Elmar Murtazaev (since 2013).

“I am happy to celebrate the first decade of FORBES Russia. I would like to call to mind Paul Khlebnikov, our first editor-in-chief, who was assassinated in 2004. He would have been satisfied today. The FORBES editorial team is always committed to fair, independent and investigative journalism. They produce fact based, rational and analytical texts, and this is why I am very proud of the Russian editorial team. I’d like to thank Elmar Murtazaev who is running it so well”, says Regina von Flemming, CEO Axel Springer Russia.

In the next months, FORBES will accelerate the digital transformation of the media brand and introduce new features and services to the market such as iPad version of Forbes.
